Happy October!

Hello!

The stamp of the Month for October is Christmas Tunes!  Available only in October.  If you place a $50 order (before shipping/taxes) you can purchase for only $6 (+ shipping/taxes)!  Otherwise, purchase alone for only $23 (+ shipping/taxes).

Can't wait to start creating with it - I did do one already that was posted here if you missed it.

Also this month is the Share a Smile promotion for Operation Smile. In case you didn't already know, $7 from the purchase of the stamp set is donated to Operation Smile, the charity Close to My Heart proudly supports.

And I think that is it for new October news!

September!

It's September already and I guess Fall is around the corner, though thankfully the weather is not thinking that - I love, love, love all this sunshine!  I feel terrible for all the folks effected by the multiple fires happening in our Province (and other places) however.  Hoping they all get some very much needed rain soon.

I do have lots of news for this month so will get on with that bit ... new Stamp of the Month, Feel So Blessed, is awesome and I look forward to creating with it soon!

The National Stamping Month promotion is awesome and I have been having some fun with it.  You're gonna love it but don't miss out as it's only here till the end of September!

It is also the beginning of a new Holiday Expressions catalogue which is so cute!

New art is in the works and will be posted soon!

If you are wanting a paper version of the Holiday Expressions or haven't received your Annual Inspirations catalogue yet, please contact me.

Scrapbooking

Hello, I've been in a bit of a crafting funk lately so have started doing some scrapbooking to keep my toe in the water and still create something purposeful!

Anyway, found this photo and thought it needed to see some air ... I lived briefly in Scarborough with my Aunt and Uncle during the summer of 1984 and my cousin and her husband were kind enough to take me around and show me some sights ... one in particular I will always remember is Canada's Wonderland.  We had a photo done where we got to dress up in old fashioned clothing.

Here is the page I scrapped this morning - inspired from someone on Facebook and used the Heritage cartridge and the Old West cartridge.  The background paper is Timberline (retired CTMH), Chocolate and Black cardstock from CTMH for the wording, photo mat, stagecoach and camera. Chocolate ink for distressing the stagecoach cut out.

Love how this finished up.

Happy Canada Day and Lots of News!

First off, Happy 150th birthday Canada!  So proud to be a Canadian in this great land we call home!  Hope you are able to celebrate with friends and family and make some new memories :)

 (clipart from here)

I also have news about a current promotion CTHM is running in July, Stampaganza!

"Let Stampaganza 2017 begin! Buy any two My Acrylix® stamp sets at full retail price and get a third stamp set of equal or lesser value FREE! Choose from any current stamp set, plus a collection of popular sets that we have brought back just for Stampaganza!
When you add three sets to your order, we will automatically make the least expensive set FREE in your shopping cart. Check your cart at any time to see how many free sets you have!"
They are also including the Word Puzzle Stamps and other retired stamps they've brought back just for this!  These are in addition to all the stamp sets available in our current catalogues.  If you've been looking at stamp sets but haven't gotten around to getting them yet, now is the time to buy!

Our Stamp of the month is Storybook Alphabet and is adorable.  Spend $50 (before shipping and taxes) and get it for only $6.

As a Consultant, I have been able to see the new 2017-2018 Annual Inspirations catalogue early and I gotta say, they've hit it out of the park this year!  It will be available to everyone August 1st!  You're gonna love it!

The new Cricut collection, You Are Here, looks amazing and will be well utilized for sure! 700 images: shapes, titles, phrases and font!  This will be available either as a physical cartridge (comes with handbook) or digitally (does not come with handbook).  Both ways do come with 3 My Acrylix D-size stamp sets that coordinate with the cartridge and one Enchantment cardstock combo pack.

They've also created 3 Digital sets for Canada, the U.S., and Australia/New Zealand specifically that look awesome.  They are digital only however so you need to have one of the newer Cricut machines (Cricut Explore, Cricut Explore Air and Cricut Explore Air 2).

They haven't forgotten about our awesome Thincuts though - there are new ones.  There are also new stamp sets that are layered stamping which I'm so excited about.

They've re-done our cardstock so that it is now two toned - the base colour on one side and a light colour on the other which will make it twice as useful!

The Basics palette has been re-done and there will be 10 new colours coming our way.  It does mean that the current Basics palette (with the exception of Black) will be retiring so if you have any ink pads without re-inkers, I would suggest you get them now (and I do mean now as they'll sell out fast!) so that you don't have to worry about an ink pad drying out and not being able to re-ink it.  (I've got to say though in my 5 yrs as a Consultant I don't think I've even had to do this once!) ... there is simply so much in this catalogue that I can't wait to see in person!

With a new catalogue coming, that means the current Annual Inspirations will be retiring.  Please don't wait to get those items you've been wanting as they will sell out fast, if they haven't already!

Have a wonderful day!

Scrapbooking Family

I don't do this very often but after recently visiting with family, I feel a stronger connection to my ancestors and felt I needed to start scrapbooking that family so that my descendants might have some knowledge.

Anyway, here is one of the pages I've made recently.  The picture is of my great-grandparents 50th wedding anniversary gathering.

"Family Time" is from Prickly Pear - Scrapbooking - lots of great stamps in this set!  I also used my Cricut, Design Space and here is a generic file for you to use if you so wish, there may be some pieces you need to buy if you don't already have them.

Look for more pages to come - I think I've been bitten by the scrapbooking bug!

Enjoy this wonderful day!

So now onto a creation ... here is a card that I made recently for my cousin who together with his beautiful wife, celebrated a 50th birthday, a 60th birthday and a 25th anniversary all that the same time!  It was wonderful being able to share their special time.  I'm pretty sure I cased this from someone but can't remember from where!

Happy Spring Finally!

I'm so happy winter seems to have finally let go and that the daffodils are up and the blossoms are on the trees!

I saw this post on the Close to My Heart blog and I just had to do my version of it!

The "Happy" and "Spring" are from the February Stamp of the Month (retired), stamped in Memento Black ink.  The daffodil is from Flower Market and the tag is from Artistry.  I used White Daisy, Sweet Leaf, Canary and Glacier cardstock and some miscellaneous yellow cardstock.  Propped up the flower and the sentiment with 3D Foam Tape.

I've linked the Design Space file here for the Cricut Explore.  You do need to own both of the cartridges to use the file.  (Hopefully this works for you, haven't done that before!)

Have a great day and enjoy some Spring!

Adore You Birthday

Hello, today's card is a birthday card using the Adore You set that was January's Stamp of the Month - hope you didn't miss out!

A special friend was having a special birthday recently so this is what I came up with - hope she likes it!  The covered up bit has her name personalized on the card using Etched Alphabet on a banner edged with the Gold Shimmer Brush. 'Happy Birthday' was cut out using our Thin Cuts - Happy Birthday and our Gold Glitter Paper.  I believe it was Fern cardstock I used for the background but forgot to write that down.

Have a great day!

Be My Valentine

Hi, today's card is using the cut file from the wonderful Melody Lane.  I also used our Silver Shimmer Trim underneath the cut hearts and our Red Glitter Paper with the Thin Cut Hearts set.  The white layer was distressed with both Cranberry ink and Cocoa ink and then popped up with our 3D Foam Tape.  I also used the Crayola Fine Line Markers in my Cricut Explore to do the wording and the hearts.

All in all, pretty happy with how this turned out.

Have a wonderful day!

Welcome Home Wreath

Oh my goodness, this is such a great kit - it comes with everything you need except glue or if you want to fancy it up even more, you can use inks and a gold shimmer pen.

Here is the video from CTMH (1 min long) and below that, I will show you my wreath.

This is the wreath that I made over the holidays - in addition to the kit, I used Emerald, New England Ivy inks on the succulants, Slate ink on the wreath itself and Gold Shimmer pen on the roses.  Thank you to Sandy Zimmer for her patience with my questions!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out!

It is available only for the month of January and you have a few ways to get it. Purchase it outright for $24.25 (plus s/t) or place a $60 order and get it free! Check it out on my website 24/7.  If you'd like to get together and create your wreath in a group, let me know and I can set that up!

Have a lovely day!
