Happy Mother's Day

Found this great card while blog surfing the other day and loved it so much I HAD to make my version of it and break into the Dream Pop paper pack!

I cut the Dream Pop paper at 3" x 5.5".  I used Silver glitter tape, Perfect Fit - Mom stamp set, the tag is cut at 1.75" from the Artiste cartridge.  I also used the Sparkles Assortment for a bit of bling and stamped it in Slate ink.

Remember the Dream Pop paper kit is available for purchase starting May 1st - with any $35 product purchase, it can be purchased for just $10 more!  And if you spend just another $5, you would also be able to purchase the great Stamp of the Month set for May for just another $5.  So for $55, you would get both!  It's a great deal!

And don't forget, today is the last day to order the April Stamp of the Month set, My Sunshine -it's a great set!  Yours for either $17.95 or with a $50 order, just $5.

Have a great day!

Baby Boy

Had some fun playing with the Create a Critter 2 cart and made this card.

I cut the bear at 3.25".  I used the Artiste cartridge to cut Congrats (at 1", pg 62) and Baby (at 1", pg 63).  I used the Cuttlebug Herringbone embossing folder for the background and Crystal stickles for the bow tie.

Have a great day!

Rosette Birthday Card from Art Philosophy

This is a card I made last year but hadn't posted to this blog yet - I did the Rosette Birthday Card project that is at the beginning of the booklet for the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I love how it turned out!

Have a great day!

Thinking of You

Sorry for the picture quality but this is a really sweet card in real life!

I used the Say it in Style stamp set (retired), with Topiary ink.  The flower is cut from the Artiste cart, pg 54, Accent2-Shift, cut at 2.5".  The embossed cardstock is also edged with Topiary Ink.

Here's a closeup of the flower ...

Have a great day!

Best Day Ever!

A friend of mine is retiring this week (so happy for her!) so have been playing around with different ideas for a card for her.

Not sure if this is 'it' yet but I think it just might be ...

I used the Card Word Puzzle, It's Your Day (retired), March's SOTM Floral Happiness (retired), Blush and Chocolate ink, and crystal stickles.

Have a great day!

Pet Sympathy

My buddy had to put her fur-baby down last week so I thought I'd make her up a card.

It is a simple 3x3" card.  I used A Child's Year, pg 41, cut at 2". The second cat is cut at 1-1/2".  I used Card Word Puzzle for the sentiment.

Have a great day (and go hug your fur-baby if you have one!)

Chevron Artiste Birthday Wishes

Chevrons are so big right now - Splitcoast Stampers has a great tutorial to make the chevrons used in this card so I won't go into that here.  I used the Artiste Collection Birthday stamp set, one of 3 great sets that comes with the Artiste cartridge.  The pocket was cut at 2" and 2-1/4", the banner was cut at 1".  I used Clear embossing powder on both after stamping it first with the Versamark ink.  I then sponged over both with black ink to make it pop!  I just used tissue paper to put in the pocket.  The background was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder after adhering the chevrons to the card base.  And then some black stickles.

Have a great day!

At Nineteen

This is another scrapbook project I made in Studio J - love it!

It is of my daughter who recently turned 19.  She is an amazing young woman and I'm so proud of her!

The papers I used are called 'Olivia' which are retired but still available in Studio J!

Have a great day!

Up Up and Away!

I used our wonderful SOTM for April, My Sunshine and the Artiste cartridge.  Background was sponged with a cloud cutout (cut at 1-1/2") and Sky ink.  The "Happy" is from Say it in Style set (retired) and "Retirement" is from Card Word Puzzle.  I stamped the balloon in Desert Sand and the sun was Honey.  I forgot to write what size I cut it at but I'm thinking around 1-1/2" as well.  I coloured the flag at the top of the balloon with a Gold Paint pen.  The basket is cut out when the balloon is cut and then I stamped it with the same stamp as the balloon.  I used gold stickles on the balloon but it doesn't show up very well on the scan which is too bad because it finishes the card!

Have a great day!

Handbooks for Art Philosophy and Artiste AND sneak peek for new May promotion!

If you've been following my blog, you'll know that I just adore these two carts ... Art Philosophy and Artiste ... if you've been sitting on the fence about whether or not to get them, here are a couple of links to their handbooks ... both of these carts have 700+ cuts on them so they are great value.

Artiste (Cricut.com website)

Art Philosophy (Cricut.com website)

A simple breakdown of the cost means that for $99, you are getting three coordinating D size stamps sets (17.95 x3=53.85), and coordinating chipboard cutouts (4.95 x3=14.85) which means you are only paying 30.30 for the cart itself!  That is a great deal!

Let me know if you'd like to see them in action in person.

And if you wait until May to purchase you can get more bang for your buck ... you can get the May Stamp of the Month for only $5 plus we have a new promotion for Scrapbooking Month called "Dream Pop" so for every $35 ordered, you can get this awesome new paper pack for just $10 more!

Have a great day!

Live Inspired

Ok, saw a card today and fell in love with it.  It's not the same but here's my version.

I used the Live Inspired stamp set (retired), Bamboo, Desert Sand, Cocoa inks, Versamark and Clear Embossing powder.  The background is from the Cuttlebug Wedding Suite set.

Love how it turned out.

Have a great day!

You're Tweet

For this card, I used this month's Stamp of the Month, My Sunshine!  It's so cute!  The bird is stamped in Juniper, the wing in Desert Sand.  You're Tweet is stamped in Desert Sand.  The sun is stamped in Honey.  I used the Birds & Swirls embossing folder from Cuttlebug and liquid pearls to give it some pop and the bird an eye!  I used the wonderful Artiste cart to cut out the sun and the bird and the wing.  I love how it says right on the stamp set what size to cut the shapes.

Have a great day!

A Perfect Day Birthday

I've always wanted to try doing something with paint cards so today was the day!  Note to self, next time use Staz-On ink, it dries quicker!

I used a Baer Paint Chip (530C-1-C-3), Perfect Day stamp set (retired), Baker's Twine Paradise Assortment, an SU border punch, SU word window punch, and SU Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Oh and Paws & Claws Jewels.

Have a great day!

Thanks!

I love thank you cards and this is a quick and easy one to put together.  I used the Artiste cart and cut the letters for 'THANKS' out at 1".

Then I cut the cardstock to go across a 5-1/2" card front.

I used the Universal Backgrounds working stamp to stamp over the cardstock in Chocolate.

That's it!

Have a great day!

Hello Tweety!

I love it when cards just come together!  This is one of those.  I had some scraps of the For Always Scrapbook kit paper on the table and I wanted to use this stamp set so I got busy with some versamark and embossing powders (Black, Gold and Clear) and this is what happened.

Have a great day!

Chantilly-Honeycomb Birthday

Hello!

Today I made a birthday card using the Chantilly Cardmaking Workshop on the Go stamp set and the Honeycomb stamp set.  Totally inspired from here.

The colours I used were Sweet Leaf, Lagoon and Sunset.

Hope you like it!

Have a great day!

Just for You Birthday

Hello!

This card uses the Just for You stamp set - love it!  I did this last year so I don't recall what colours I used to stamp but they would have likely been Indian Corn Blue and Sweet Leaf since that is all I would have had at that time.

The 'Happy Birthday' I believe is from the Art Philosophy set Collection of stamps.  The flower shape was cut from Art Philosophy at 2-1/2" and the centre of the flower at 1".  I don't recall the size of the leaves.  And then a white gel pen for the stitching.

Have a great day!

Sweet as Honey

I'm lovin' the Honeycomb stamp set - here is a quick 4x4 card.  Inks used were Honey and Cocoa.  I also used the bee from the Buzz and Bumble Scrapbooking Workshop on the Go stamp set.

I did cut the bee and the honeycombs out.  I have to figure out how to cut the honeycombs out on the Cricut - there are honeycomb shapes in both the Winter Woodland and Accent Essentials carts but I haven't had time to figure out the sizes yet !

Have a wonderful day!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day isn't that far away so I thought I'd better get crackin'!

This card uses Perfect Fit - Mom (C1543), Sweet Moments (C1487), For Always Cardmaking Workshop on the Go paper (cut at 3-3/8" x 3-1/8"), roses cut from Artiste cart (pg 54, Accent 1, cut at 1-1/2"), label cut from Artiste cart (pg 33, Accent 3, cut at 1-1/2" and 1-3/4"), Thanks card base from the Artiste cart (pg 65, Card, cut at 3-3/4") and Cranberry and Slate inks.

I really like how it turned out - I was inspired from here.  I really liked the idea of using a piece of cardstock behind the Thank You card itself to make the 'thanks' really stand out.  And once I added the roses to the tab-thingy, I thought it would make a great mother's day card 'cause who deserves a thank you more than Mom!

Have a great day!

Buzzing with Good Wishes

Totally inspired from here but with my own twist.  I love the way she ripped the paper around the image.  A great technique that I'd forgotten about!

Used Quick Cards - Bumble Bee stamp set, Chocolate and Honey inks, Liquid Glass for the wings and an SU embossing folder.  The bee was coloured with Honey ink and a blender pen. I edged the image first with Honey and then with a bit of Chocolate.  The paper and ribbon was from my stash.  Quick card to pull together.

Have a great day!

Live Simply

Love this card!

I used Chocolate and Desert Sand inks and the set Country Life (sadly it's been retired).  The background is the SU! Honeycomb embossing folder.

I wasn't going to get this embossing folder but since I had some extra birthday money, I did get it, even though I have one coming up from a good buddy that was produced by Cuttlebug.  It is a bit different so I'm sure I will get tons of use out of both of them!

I used the corner rounder on the focal image and on the inside piece which you can't see.  Since it is black cardstock I put in light coloured paper to make it easier to write on and also to give the card more stability as well.

Have a great day!

For Always Cardmaking Workshop on the Go stamp set

Well that's a big title!  LOL!  I was sorting out my papers today and realized I hadn't even looked at the stamp set that came with this kit yet (I know!?).

I'm not totally sure what this card can be used for ... maybe wedding or an anniversary?  Anyway, had some fun playing with the set.

Used the Artiste cart for the hearts, pg 51, cut at 1".  I used Black, Slate and Cranberry inks.  The paper mats were cut at 2.75" x 4.25", 2-5/8" x 4-1/8" and 2.5" x 4".  The base card was cut from an 8.5" x 11" paper, cut lengthwise.

Have a great day!

Studio J Project

I was playing around with Studio J to see what it was all about.  I love digital scrapbooking because you can get pages done in way less time than it takes to do a traditional paper scrapbook page layout (for me anyway!).

I absolutely LOVE that I can use any paper packet ever produced by Close to My Heart, even if it is not available any longer to order.  All in all, it was a pretty fast process - you can pick pre-done layouts or create your own and even with the pre-done layouts, you still have the option of personalizing the pages as I did in the layout below.  The longest part was waiting for the photos to upload!

I just ordered the jpgs for $2.95 (which were then emailed to me) so now I can print them later at my leisure. If you want CTMH to print them and send them to you, it is $6.95.  A great deal either way!

Anyway, here is what I did ... for these, I used the Free Spirit papers.

Have a great day!

Thanks!

Thanks!  I love this stamp and it is so easy to create something with it!  (And it is a steal at only 6.95!)  I cut the card from the Art Philosophy cart, pg 53 at 4.25".  I then cut the mats from the same page at 3.25 and 3.75".  I stamped the Thanks in Chocolate ink.  I then cut the branch from pg 43 and the roses from pg 69 ... The cut sizes for the roses were 2" and 1.75" but I didn't write down the sizes for the branch.  I edged the edges of the leaves with Sweet Leaf ink.

This also was taken from the Spring/Summer 2012 Idea book - don't throw them away!  They can still inspire you even if there is a new catalogue out!  And note, the current and the one just passed are both actually current.  The only things that don't carry over are the Workshop on the Go kits.  But usually 4 of the paper packs remain.

Have a great day!

Looking for Inspiration and found it!

I found it right in the Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book!  Who knew ;)!  LOL!  There are so many great ideas in there and in all of the Idea books - don't be surprised to see a few more show up here!   If you don't have yours yet, let me know and I'll get you a copy of the current catalogue.

So for today's card, I used the Art Philosophy cart, pg 67, Card cut at 4.25".  And on pg 40, the tag <tag2> was cut at 1".  I also used Universal Backgrounds for the script background, and the Card Word Puzzle for the butterfly, flower and Happy Birthday.  Inks were Desert Sand, Buttercup and Honey.

Have a great day!

ps I love to get comments - if you are out there reading this, drop me a line!  It get's lonely in blog land :)

Dragonfly Birthday

I was looking for a way of using the dragonfly cut from the Art Philosophy cart and my new Sizzix dragonfly background embossing folder.  I think this works!

From pg 24, I cut the card at 5.25".  From pg 55, I cut the labels at 2" and 1.80".  I also cut another dragonfly in black to fit into the hole in the front of the card so that when it is opened, the dragonfly appears on the inside of the card as well, if that makes any sense!  I used the Sizzix Swirls, Butterflies, Dragonflies embossing folder set and the sentiment is from Just a Number (what a great set that is!).

Have a great day!

Butterfly Birthday

Butterflies seem to be big this year ... I was looking at the cards I received for my birthday and all but 1 had butterflies on them!  Ok then, who am I to buck the trend ;)

Materials Used:  Just a Number (D1514), Desert Sand ink, and the Art Philosophy cart (pg 55, shift-layer cut at 1.5".  Also used a SU border punch and embossing folder.

I might still add something to this but not sure exactly what - maybe some pearls?  If I do, will post an update.

Update:  So I added some liquid pearls -  this is much better, now it looks finished!

Have a great day!

Hello!

This was such a fun card to make - I don't know what it is called but it is like a mini-card that opens from the main card.

I used A Bowwow (which I'm starting to love!), and used a paper kit that I won ages ago all about dogs and cats.

I used Chocolate ink for the stamping and for edging the edges of the papers.

Have a great day!

It's a great set and I'm looking forward to doing some work with it!

Have a great day!

Wonderful Beautiful Day

This is another card that looks so much better in real life!  I used the Buzz and Bumble Scrapbooking Workshop on the Go stamp set and stamped in Indian Corn Blue, Juniper, Smoothie, Champagne inks.  I cut the Butterfly using the Artiste cart, pg 58, Accent Shift, cut at 1.75".  I used gold stickles for the centre of the flowers again - it just gives it that extra bit of pop!  The butterfly is popped up as well.

Have a great day!
