New CTMH Catalogue Preview

Here's a sneak peek of the new cover for the upcoming 2013 Spring/Summer catalogue which goes 'live' on February 1st!

If you'd like your very own copy of this wonderful catalogue, let me know.

If you are a current customer, it will be free!  If you'd like your own free copy, simply place an order with me either at my online site (24/7) or send me an email with your order.

If you do place an order, keep in mind that if you order $35, for only an additional $10, you can get the wonderful Whooos Your Valentine kit which you can only get through Jan 31/13.  I've received my kit and look forward to creating some lovelies with it and the wonderful stamp set that comes with it.

If you place an order for $50, you can also pick up the Stamp of the Month for an additional $5.  For December 1-31, it's Year Round Cheer.  For January 1-31st, it is Happy Valentine's.

Remember, there is no price differences for Canadians!  All the wonderful products you see in the catalogue are the same prices you'd pay if you were a U.S. customer.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!  I am finally starting to feel a bit better from this flu/cold but it's slow ... hopefully tomorrow I will feel more human and wanting to do more than be a lump on the couch!

I received some lovely things for Christmas and haven't really even investigated anything yet!  The one thing I can't wait to fill up is the stamp pad/marker organizer (Exclusive Inks Organizer, Z4131) I received!  It is the beginning of my organizational goal to get my craft room organized to a useable state.

Cheers!

M.I.A.

Hello!

I am so sorry, I have been missing in action ... I was busy getting ready for a craft fair and then finishing up work and then was planning to get everything ready for Christmas ... well I've been foiled and have gotten the flu instead so am struggling just to get things ready for the big day.

So I will wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas (or whatever you are celebrating) and all the very best for the new year, now that we know for sure there will be a new year (since it didn't end on the 21st as prophesized!)

I will try to catch things up next week when I will be feeling better and ready to tackle life again!

((hugs))

This is a card I made for my dear cousin who underwent surgery this past week - will pop this in the mail to her and hope that it brings a smile to her face.

Used the SU! set Blooming with Kindness, with Desert Sand ink.  Also an antique copper brad and misc ribbon.

Swing Card

This is a swing card made, of course, with the Artiste cartridge and the Pear & Partridge Paper pack and stamp set from the Cardmaking Workshop on the Go.  I believe the ink is chocolate but it might be cocoa.

The accent pieces were cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge at 2.5 and 2.75.

Warmest Wishes

Hello!

This was made using the Very Merry Christmas SOTM set from October - hope you managed to get it!  I cut the outline using the Artiste cartridge, pg 79 at 2.5.  The banner was cut from pg 66, shift-Accent 3 at 0.75.  The ink used was Cranberry -love this colour!

Rosette Snowman

This idea came from Dawn and I couldn't wait to try it with the Artiste cart!

Rosettes, Pg 50, Accent 4, cut 4 at 1".

Tag, pg 37, cut at 5", shift-Accent 3

Hat, pg 36, Accent 2, cut at 2.25" - the hat was made using 1/2 of an oval and a banner, pg 58, shift-Accent 3 but I didn't write down what size I cut it at (sorry, I really must start getting better at this!).  Then I glued them together and ran them through the Big Shot in the SU! square lattice embossing folder.

I found some gold ric-rac and used that as an accent on the hat.

Have a great day!

Movin' On

Hello!

Made this card for a colleague who has since moved on to another job using the It's Your Day stamp set which was the constant campaign set that was only available in September.  Used a masking technique which I saw somewhere online but can't find the link - will update when I find it again!

Merry Little Christmas

This is a card I did up using the Pear & Partridge card workshop stamp set.  The background is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.  The main sentiment is stamped with, I think, Desert Sand (sorry, forgot to write it down!) and the black label is outlined with a white gel pen.  I used the Artiste cartridge for the labels, pg 61, Accent 3 but forget to write the measurements (gee, I forgot to write a lot down for this card which is too bad, 'cause I really like it!  I'll try to do better in the future!)  The snowflake is just a punch.

Have a great day!

Happy Holidays

Good morning!

The sleigh is from last year's SOTM Holiday Magic and stamped in Holiday Red ink (retired) and the blade is done in Versamark and then embossed with silver embossing powder.  I really like how moist the Close to My Heart ink pads are.

Have a great day!

Gift Tag

Here's a cute little gift tag I made up - the wee mouse is from the Cricut Cartridge Winter Frolic, pg 56, cut at 2.25 and the tag is from Artiste, pg 37, cut at 4.5.

Have a great day!

My Other Creative Life

Occasionally, I'll post some stitching that I've managed to do in between card-making/papercrafting ... like many of you I suspect, you do more than one thing!

Here are some recent finishes ... I find I do tend to start stitching once Christmas is on the horizon ... nothing like a time challenge, lol!  It's always a race to see if things actually get finished up!

Have a great day!

Hello!

Here is a card that was inspired from this recent purchase I made for my Kindle ... it is on sale right now still for 99 cents!  (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006ORNVT0/ref=docs-os-doi_0)

Anyway, here is the card and my take on it, using the Artiste cartridge!

Recipe is:
from Artiste
pg 48
1 - 1-3/4" circle - black
1 - 1" circle - black
6 - 1/4" circles (I just used a regular hand-held hole punch) - black
1 - 1-3/4" circle - red
the letter 'J' was cut at 1" x 2 (used the shift key and it is on pg 57) and then I just curled the ends a bit with my quilling tool)
Banner, Accent 4 - red - 3/4"
Banner, Accent 4 - white - 1/2"
also used:
Birds & Swirls cuttlebug folder
Hello! is from Say it in Style (retired)

Have a great day!

Gift Card Holder

Hello!

Made a few of these gift card holders ... the hats were a bit labour intensive in that I had to wait in between glue dryings but putting it all together happened quickly once all the pieces were ready :)

The Santa Hat is from the Cricut cartridge Joys of the Season (pg 26 and cut at 2.25"), the gift card holder is from Artiste and cut at 4.75".  The glitter is Prisma Glitter.  The sentiment is from Christmas Joy.

I really like how it turned out!

Have a great day!

Christmas Tree Gate Fold

Hello!

Today's card is a gate-fold card ... card is 11x5.5, scored at 2.75 and 8.25; red panel behind tree is 2.75x2.75; black panel is 3x3.   I also used the Merry Christmas embossing folder for the background panels.

The tree is cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge, pg 31, shift <tree1> and Layer shift.  I think they were cut at 3.5 and 3.75 but I'm not sure as I forgot to write it down ... my bad!

Then once it was all put together, I used crystal stickles glue to add some bling.

Have a great day!

Merry & Bright

Got me a new stamp set and had to ink it up!

Sorry the photo quality is so bad - it's not very bright here today given that it's rained all the day long!

I used the Merry & Bright stamp set, with Bamboo and Cocoa inks.  I ran a glue pen around the ribbon on the wreath and then sprinkled it with Prisma Glitter.

Easy, peasy ... the hardest part was the corner rounder which was hard to do today because my hands are so sore.

I really like how this turned out!

Have a great day!

Tea Light Snowman

Saw this on youtube this weekend so thought I'd give it a try - I love it!

Made it using the Artiste cartridge and it was so fun to make!  I used White Daisy cardstock and other miscellaneous supplies to finish him off - can't wait to pop in some battery operated tea lights in the bottom 2 layers - he's going to look so cute all lit up!

Update, here are some instructions:

  • In white, cut from Pg 56, 3 boxes sized 2.5", 2", and 1.5"
  • In black, cut from Pg 56, 1 box at 1".
  • Cut one 2.5" circle, in black, for the base of the hat.
  • Cut one 1.25" circle for the nose and then roll it up.
  • Scrap of ribbon or material for the scarf.

Have a lovely day!

Sympathy

I needed a sympathy card for a friend who lost her mother recently and came up with this - inspired by something I saw while surfing the 'net ... I used the Art Philosophy cart for the sentiment shape (pg 62, <Oval5>, cut at 3.5 for the grey and 3.25 for the white), SU! Close as a Memory stamp set, miscellaneous markers to colour the flowers, Memento black ink for the sentiment, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, CTMH Slate ink for the edge distressing ... R.I.P. Audrey

Clearly the Best - new episode!

This is a card from Jeanette's website which is described in the video below - I love how the Cricut carts coordinate with the stamp sets and chipboard which comes with the carts ... and other stamp sets in the Idea Books coordinate as well.  Love it!

October Stamp of the Month

I really like this set ... think it will make a lot of really great things.  If you'd like it for yourself, you can order it for $17.95 or if you place an order for $50, you can get it for just $5!

And if you have the Artiste cartridge, it coordinates beautifully with it!

Don't miss out - it's only available until Oct 31st!

Not feeling it ...

I'm simply not feeling the Christmas feeling yet this year at all so I'm looking for inspiration ... I found this card online and thought it looked simple enough that it might be easy to replicate if making several at a time or if only making a few, easy to bling it up ... here is my interpretation ...

To bling it up, you can use Harvest Twine for a bow, and sparkles or as I did here, simple jute tied into a bow.

Stamp sets: Fill in the Blank - Holiday, Remarkable Wreath
Inks:  Cranberry, Olive, Memento Black
Art Philosophy cartridge, pg 53 (base <card> cut @ 4.25", black <square4> cut @ 4", white <square4> cut @ 3.75")

Have a great day!

Flakey Friends

Happy Thanksgiving!

In Canada, it is our Thanksgiving Day long weekend but the weather has been so phenomenal and it sure doesn't feel like Thanksgiving!  It doesn't help that we just got back from Kaua'i either - still in summer mode!

But the turkey is cooking and filling the house with delicious smells and everything else is prepped and ready to go!  Missing my daughter but thankful she is in such a good place at school.

Got into the craft room finally and worked with a new set that I hadn't used before - Flakey Friends.  I've loved snow people forever so when I saw this set, it had to join my collection.

I stamped the snowman with Versamark and then embossed with black embossing powder (note to self, remember to use the embossing buddy first - I always forget!!).

I coloured the scarf and nose with Outdoor Denim and Autumn Terracotta markers and a Copic colour for the main body.

The background circle was cut with the Artiste cartridge (pg 31, Accent 2, cut at 2-1/2").

The background snowflakes were stamped with Indian Corn Blue, Twilight and Pacifica inks.

The background embossing is from a Tim Holz embossing folder and the blue paper is miscellaneous paper I'm trying to use up!

Have a great day!

Artiste Cartridge & Art Philosophy Cartridge Overviews

I love these two cartridges - they are so full of different ideas.  I'm loving trying different things - there are over 700 images to cut on each cartridge.

Happy Crafting!

Clearly the Best - Close to My Heart Craft Channel Show

Just wanted to let you all know about this video series that Close to My Heart is currently producing - they are very informative - here is the link to the site ... the links to all of their videos are there.

http://www.mycraftchannel.com/shows/Clearly-the-Best-Stamping-with-Close-To-My-Heart/

Here is their latest video ...

Happy crafting :)

Where'd she go??

Aloha!

Took a little vacation to Kaua'i with my hubby to celebrate 20 years of marriage ... oh my gosh, it's lovely there! I could definitely live there - it was so lovely, warm and relaxing!

No card making while I was away but I did make a couple of cards when I got back.

I used the Life is a Beach Cricut cartridge, a new embossing folder from Darice that I got at Ben Franklin Crafts and some miscellaneous paper.

It's a nice long weekend coming up this weekend for our Thanksgiving so hopefully will get to spend some time in the craft room and get over this jet lag - it wasn't bad when we went there but coming back seems to be tougher to shake!

Have a great day!

Crop-o-dile ... paid in full!

Just a quick note to say that my crop-o-dile finally came in handy outside of the craft room - had to punch a new hole in a belt (saved son $$ to get it done) and it did that beautifully!

Have a great day!

Bountiful Season

Hello, just playing around and came up with this ...

Inks used were Desert Sand, Champagne and Cashmere.  Stamp set is Quick Cards - Bountiful Season and SOTM Baroque Borders for the background.

Have a great day!
